Devils Lake Fishing Report, May 22-28 2017

The Devils Lake Fishing Report for the week of May 22nd to May 28th 2017. Brought to you by Mitchell’s Guide Service. The largest and most experienced guide service serving the Devils Lake system.

What a week it has been. Our clients experienced great fishing throughout the week in spite of the up-and-down May weather. Good catches were made of all size walleyes and pike. With the warmer temps a major Improvement from last week was seen in the catches of all our customers. All week long winds were a factor in limiting options for our guides to take their customers, but that did not seem to slow down the bite.


Devils Lake Fishing Report, October 9-15, 2016

Wind and weather in the form of cooler than normal temps. dominated this week’s fishing. Inconsistent catches were reported by our fishing guides and anglers throughout the Devils Lake basin. When Mother nature cooperated, the bite was on and good limits were had. One of our guided groups reported catching and releasing a ten pound walleye with a few larger walleye also reported being caught and CPR’ed This week’s weather forecast looks much more promising than last week. Good fall presentations have been the old reliable jig and minnow combination, jigging raps, jigging spoons and some contour trolling of crankbaits. Leadcore or longline trolling have produced some good catches of walleye.


Devils Lake Fishing Report, September 11-17, 2016

Weather has driven the bite this week. Stable weather patterns produced some of the best fishing of the year once again. Quality catches and larger fish were caught as our weekly client photos show. However, buy cialis we also had last week weather systems moving through the area with the following cold fronts that did produce a down turn in our catches on those days. Both in numbers of fish and in the overall size of the fish.


Devils Lake Fishing Report, September 4 to10, 2016

Very good fishing continues throughout the Devils Lake basin as it has all summer. Overall numbers of fish caught may be down a bit compared to when the summer peak was in full swing. However, anglers are reporting that the average size of the walleyes are way up as the photos posted here show. Some very nice fish were caught this week. Trolling crankbaits on flats continue to produce good limits of eater walleyes and some larger walleye are now showing up.
